I continued to drive, knowing exactly where I was going.  Casper would be waiting for me on the other side of New York which, by old maps, said it would take only a few hours to reach. Richard had fallen asleep in the passenger seat, snoring lightly.  The poor guy must've been up for days. I hoped he would meet up with his family and I felt a pang in my heart. I knew how hard it was to lose your family and I wouldn't wish it apon anyone else.

I turned on a residential road and noticed  a man sitting infront of a very nice house.  The outbreak had happened months ago, anyone who was still alive had been reduced to an animalistic state. Murdering others for the basics. This man looked at my car as I slowed down. A part of me felt like he hadn't been affect yet. He looked up a me, he had a bag laying nex to him on his asphalt driveway. He smiled at me and stood up as I unrolled my window.
